Recipe

Cabbage, Sausage, & Apple Slow cooker recipe

I just made this recipe on Wednesday, I have no idea where this recipe came from.... but I really enjoy it as it has a neat flavor and of course is very easy to prepare and healthy too!

2 apples - chopped

5-6 leaves of cabbage

2 1/4 C. of apple juice

2 links of sausage

Chop apples and set aside. Shred cabbage leaves (this could be done with a food processer, but works quite well if you just slice the cabbage leaf long-ways with a sharp knife). Chop your sausage links into bit size pieces. Toss apples, sausage, and cabbage into slowcooker (if you look at the photo above it kind of looks like some type of salad). Pour 2 1/4 C. of apple juice on top of your mixture. Turn slowcooker on high and cook for about 4-6 hours.

I love slowcooker recipes - especially on nights that happen to be my turn to make the meal and I'm busy teaching piano all afternoon. It is nice to put it all in the slowcooker not have to worry about it. It is really a nice time-saver. It is also fun to make meals ahead of time and freeze them so that when you need something in a hurry you just pull it out and put it in the oven.
